Missed College Tour?

So due to weather conditions and other difficulties, I was not able to attend a college visit that I had signed up for. The undergrad admissions director emailed me and said that they have noted my intended visit in their records. What does that mean? Will that eventually count against me when I choose to apply for that school? What actions should I take?

Why not just schedule another visit?

I will definitely do that! Thank you! Do you think missing this one will count against my future acceptance chances at this college?

It will actually look stronger that you rescheduled.

Thank you so much!! I was really worried, but I feel so much better now. Thanks again!

It depends.

Did you:

 • exercise courtesy and notify the school that you were unable to attend, and canceled the appt, or
 • did you just not show up?

I would reply to the admissions director, apologize for missing the meeting, explain the weather problems you encountered, let her know that the school remains a top choice, and say if you did or plan to reschedule the visit .

At my daughter’s school, they award a $1000/yr grant to anyone who visited the school before acceptance. No affect on admissions, but a big on on the pocketbook.

Just reschedule.

Thanks to everyone who replied! I didn’t contact the director, but I plan to reschedule!
