Missed deadline by 2 minutes! What happens now?

I missed Boston University's deadline by just two minutes. I was facing some difficulties in uploading my optional writing sample via the CommonApp and it took me a long time to solve this issue. This eventually led me to miss the deadline for only 2 minutes. Although commonapp sent me an automated email saying that the application and writing supplement were successfully submitted, I'm not quite sure as to whether the university will accept my application.

What do you guys think will happen now? Is my application going to be rejected? Should I send them an email explaining the difficulty I faced in uploading the writing sample? I'm getting really anxious here.

Boston University reads your application and sees if you’re a good fit for the school.

There are no magical gnomres that automatically reject late applications. You’re absolutely fine.

Thanks for the information purpleacorn. Now I can sleep better.

yeah rest easy! 2 minutes wont affect your app at all  good luck!

If you’re paranoid just find your rep. Online and send them an email detailing what happened. I’m sure they won’t care

Boston College extended their deadline to Jan. 3 so I think they would be flexible with you. I would contact the rep assigned to your area to let them know of your problem with the CA. Here is the link with the extension noted.
