missed december 1st financial aid deadline

I actually wasn’t planning on applying to CMC until 2 days ago, when their college coach for cross country contacted me and highly encouraged me to apply. I was very interested in the Claremonts (I’m applying to Pitzer) but i had always been interested in CMC except I thought I couldn’t get in so I didn’t apply. But I missed the deadline for financial aid and i can’t pay for tuition without any aid. I’m not going to get any need based aid because my family is upper middle class in southern california, so we’re pretty well off, and the financial aid calculator also says i’m not going to get any need based aid. I emailed CMC about it 2 days ago but they haven’t replied. Has anyone gone through something similar or have any advice or knowledge on this? Is it possible for me to apply now and still get merit aid?

Hi, as far as I know prestigious colleges are pretty lenient towards financial aid. For example, Princeton is known for contacting applicants as late as March for missing aid info. I recommend filling out the online form ASAP.

Call the Admissions rep for your area and ask.

You do require need-based aid or you do not? If you do, then contact your admissions rep and financial aid office and ask if you can submit ASAP.

If you do not require need-based aid, there are merit scholarships available for competitive applicants: https://www.cmc.edu/admission/scholarships
