I missed the FAFSA deadline for some of the schools in my list and I am a transfer student too.

Am I screwed for financial aid? Since transfer aids are limited in the first place? :(

The deadline is 3/1 but I will get it done by next week

Where are you from? California, for example, has a priority date set in early March, but students can still submit the FAFSA up until the end of the year or something like that. Did I just miss a priority deadline for your state?

I missed the FAFSA deadline for my school and the website stated that if I missed the deadline, I can only be considered for Federal grants and loans and certain state scholarships.

Yes, I missed the priority deadline Does that mean I won’t be considered for school scholarships?

It varies from one school to another. You need to contact your school’s financial aid office and ask. They’re the only ones who can tell you.

Get cracking and get your stuff in now and see how it goes. IF you do lose out, then you defer or redo the process and go for it next year, knowing how to step to tune the next time around. Some deadlines are fast and unbudgable. You miss, that’s the end of any possibility of funds from that program. The same if you screw up on the application. For others, you get what’s left, and sometimes you did not miss out much at all if there are funds left. Sometimes it doesn’t matter But get to know the forms well for next time. IT’s very easy to mess up on them. I swear some of these schools count on it.

Thanks! I’m extremely bummed that I missed some dealines, especially for private schools.
