Missed literally most of the deadlines

I am international student and unfortunately I missed practically all the colleges with the deadlines till Feb 1st due to some personal and health problems (lets just say I barely made it to school on most days but now I am fine)

I am a high school senior with a Gpa 3.8+ (converted to USA scale) with a SAT score of 1840 ( Maths-740, Reading-570 -> attempted just once again due to my heath problems).

I have no idea how to process now and though I've applied to a couple of colleges that interest me but I am not satisfied.

My intended fields of study are Mechanical/Aerospace, Astronomy or Astrophysics.

So can some one please help me figure out what to do?

Thanks!!

If you are not satisfied with your colleges, then there’s nothing you can do but take a gap year.

Do something productive in that year. An internship or something. The following year, explain to colleges what the reason for your gap year was.
With a 3.8+, you can try harder on the SAT or the ACT as well. Which you could ace over the gap year, and head out somewhere better.

Sounds ivy-league material to me GPA wise and somewhat SAT wise too. However, I’d still recommend re-taking the SATs and aim for the 1900s or 2000s thereabout. You will stand a solid chance then.

If you get 2100+ then you should stand a chance at Purdue, UIUC, Berkeley or GA Tech (provided you can afford to attend any one of these)

thank you guys! for all the reply!
Catria… lol… well am in CBSE curriculum which is known for its grueling standards. Problem is I missed the deadlines… I dont mind SAT one more tym… its english that is sorta problematic to me cuz its my 2nd language…

OP

Every year there are many schools that are still looking for students in April, May, June, etc. Someone usually starts a list of these schools somewhere on the College Confidential site. Try to find the lsit and see if any of those are of interest to you.

A gap year is a great option if by the end of the school year you are still unsatisfied with your college options. An increase in SAT will make more schools realistic.

Clemson University in south carolina accepts applications into May I believe. And they have a very strong science program.

Take a gap year and apply to science heavy schools such as Cornell, MIT, RPI and then several safties.
