<p>So unfortunately I missed the deadline. I was about to print out a copy of my application but while pulling out a stack of printing paper I got a really bad paper cut. It just so happens it cut me right on one of the grooves. Lucky right? I just finished cleaning up.</p>
<p>I'm trying to submit via common app but the select term is grayed out and it won't let me submit unless I select a term. Is there anything I can do about this?</p>

<p>There’s probably nothing you can do about this but try calling the admissions office.</p>
<p>I’m sorry to say this is why people don’t wait to the proverbial 11th hour-- because sh((*** happens when you least need it to happen.</p>
<p>Sadly, I don’t know what you could possibly tell Admissions at CMU as to why your ap didn’t arrive. You might have tried to fax the entirety of the AP once your bleeding stopped to their fax number-- with a cover letter that common ap went down (which does happen at 11:59 pm given the flooding of their server.</p>
<p>At this point- you’re probably toast- but no harm in trying the fax and seeing if they will accept the AP - mail them a check and note you did so in the cover letter with explanaton.
This is called being proactive and taking initiative and may show your determination for wanting to attend CMU.
More likely it the entire situation will not look good.
If you went to the hospital and had your hand sewn up yeah- that would fly. But otherwise, you look sadly - like a procrastinator.</p>
