My counselor assured me that the Mid-Year Grade Report was sent to MIT many moons ago. However, my MIT dashboard says that the report has not been received and that there is no longer a backlog of application materials. I told my counselor this, and he said that he would "resend" the form. Unfortunately, Ben's blog says that they are already on the 7th day of decisions. Will I be automatically rejected because of this?

No(10 char)
Make him fax it.

i hope not because then ill be rejected from all my schools since i believe my school just calculated midyear grades today...

my mid year report was sent two weeks ago, it still didn't show up on MIT's website, while i know it has arrived in other schools.

Supplemental Material submission deadline has passed • Although you can continue to submit new information, we are far enough into the process at this point that it is unlikely to be reviewed by the admissions committee.

This is copied from the admission website

The mid-year report isn't "supplemental material," though. I'm pretty sure that MIT knows that many school's semester/trimester dates fall within the decision-making period - just try to get it there as soon as possible.

I'm encountering a very similar problem myself, actually; I will most likely go and get it faxed to them today, my distrust of USPS being rather high.

My school has yet to send them either. I sent an email to admissions explaining this. I'm gonna go check back and see if they were sent. I'm really worried.

Have your counselor fax it!!!

I sent some supplemental material day before yesterday and they said that they have added it to my file.

I emailed Ben Jones about this last night, and he responded:

We wouldn't reject anyone for not having their MYG's in. If we felt we needed them to make a decision, we'd harass their GC (we've been doing this all week, actually).

So if your mid-year report isn't in, it's not your problem. :)

Abhi08544, how did you send yours? e-mail? and they replied? I faxed mine a few days ago too, but never (nor was I expecting to) get a reply/confirmation...does that mean they didn't add it to my file? but I remember mollie saying you just kinda have to assume that your stuff get there...

Also, everone, if you put in the essay section in the online application "to be mailed separately", they will let you know if they never got the mailed essay, right? I'm just worried whether they got my essay or not...thanks.

Yeah i emailed mine. They replied saying that it has been added to my file.

If they don't get your essay they'll surely mail you.

Hope that helps:)

Hazhulken, same exact problem here, my counselor sent it twice and after 2 weeks after the 2nd send, it still shows up as missing.

Thank you everyone for your help! MIT emailed me and said everything was alright.
