Mid Year Grade Report - NOT PROCESSED

When I log in MIT status, it still shows my MidYear Grade report as Not Process. but I sent it 2 weeks ago.

Anyone else getting this message?

^Yeah I have the same message. I had my counselor send mine in before feb. started...

same thing with me. Sent it 2-3 weeks ago, and still nothing.

Same thing here, was going to call tomorrow about it

The last time they updated the tracking was on Jan 27 afaik.

No update for me either. Don't worry about it.

I faxed mine in. They updated it the next day.

Do you think it's alright if the mid-year reports are sent on Feb. 24? x___x Our first semester ended mid-January but our registrars did not make the transcripts available until Feb. 5, but my counselor was too swamped and didn't get to sending them out. Except now, we're on a one week vacation, so she can't send it until then ..Is that too soon before the decisions are released?

Well, if there's nothing you can do about it being sent so late, there's nothing you can do -- no use crying over spilled milk. MIT has to deal with these sorts of problems every year, and they know it's not your fault.

Mollie, do people need to let MIT know that the midyear report will be coming late though? And hasn't just slipped between the cracks? Gone missing? ETc. Will they finish reading an application if there is no midyear report? They may realize "It's not your fault" but will your application just be put aside? How important is that midyear report in the decision-making process?

I am almost positive they do read applications without midyear reports, because so many arrive so late each year.

As mid-year grades are not yet available for most students, we do not expect that most students have sent in the Mid-Year Grade Report. You should send this in as soon as possible after your grades are available.

I don't know the role of the mid-year report in decisions, but I would tend to assume it's not a really critical piece -- the admissions officers probably just glance at it to make sure everything is still in line from what they saw from the applicant's other reported semester grades.
