Hey. Some of my colleges haven't received certain information from me, such as my transcript, probably because the envelopes got lost in the mail. The deadlines for the application have already passed, but will they still let me resend the information?

Thanks

Yes, they will. This time, send it with delivery confirmation (not return receipt) and you’ll have some peace of mind. Good luck!

Alright, thanks for the reply

NO! Do NOT resend anything yet, especially if your deadline was January 1 or thereabouts. The amount of mail an admission office receives around its deadline is staggering, and it can take up to three weeks from the time you mail something to the time they can tell you they have it. Sit tight. If they are missing a document, they will let you know. This will NOT adversely affect your admission; it is a routine part of application process. Sending duplicate materials will only create more mail, which will exacerbate the problem.

All snail mail sent to colleges has not been checked as received - even though mail tracking shows the colleges all received them before the deadline. How long should this take for the common app to show that the schools receive them? When and what action should my daughter take?

Common App Online only tracks the status of forms submitted online. You cannot track the status of mailed forms through your Common App account.

Thanks so much for the info – peace of mind is priceless!

Perhaps I misunderstood you, pbakos. How do you know that the college didn’t receive the documents? If the college notified you that something’s missing, then resend it. If you’re just using commonapp.org to check, then what Winston said is correct and applies to you.
