I recieved an email the night before Thanksgiving break that Penn was missing my guidance counselor’s recc. I’ve emailed both the admissions assistant who emailed me and my guidance counselor and I haven’t received a response from either of them.

After looking through some of the topics on this board, it seems like Penn reviews apps during Thanksgiving break.

This is really frustrating since the recc was sent out, so if Penn can’t locate it then the letter was probably lost in the mail. Is anyone in a similar situation or can offer any suggestions?

I think the start making decisions next week. Call your regional rep and make sure that they know of the problem and ask them how to resolve it. Tell you counselor to wirte another rec and fax it ASAP.

that actually happened to me with princeton

except they were missing a lot more than that
they were missing my transcript, secondary school report and guidance counselor's reference...

so my school made a few phone calls, my dad express-maiiled all of my materials and they received it within 24 hours...

apparently this kind of thing happens all the time... they totally understand, so just mail in the rest of the stuff asap.

Thanks for the advice. I wish everything could be done electronically!
