Missing rec letter

I called Penn today and they said that they still haven’t received one of my recs. ***? I never got any notification from them, although I got a letter with my UserID a while ago. Is it too late to fax the letter in? People have told me that the preliminary readings are already done and the committees are meeting now. How was I supposed to know that the rec letter was missing? Penn never notified me. Please tell me it’s not too late.

Just fax it now. I'm sure it's not too late. And if you don't, then it'll definitely be too late. Call the admissions office again and explain.

I'm asking my counselor to send it ASAP (tomorrow morning).

so...is it correct to infer that Penn does NOT inform applicants of any missing documents?

Well, they supposedly do. I was probably an exception to the rule, not the norm.

anyone else??

they contact you...

I was missing a rec too, and they called my house and sent me a postcard.

I don't know why they wouldn't contact you... They did this 2 weeks ago.

They do. I got an email about missing items on Feb 12th. But everything was sent in mid jan so i didn't bother. I mailed them a couple days back (but before march 4th) to check the status and they said "files are out for review, we'll let you know if you're missing any more items" which basically means mine is complete.

I'm missing a rec too. But we are on spring break, so i can't ask my teacher until next week.
So if we aren't contacted, does that mean that they are not interested in us any more?

VERY good question....complete application = no postcard/email ???
