Missing "Student Financial Information" on FAFSA

Hi CC community,

I feel like I am the only one who is having this problem. On my FAFSA, it does not have the portion for me to put in my Financial Information. I checked a lot of times but after I click next on my parent's financial information, the FAFSA leads to the sign page after that.
I am considered as dependent but I filed tax independently (my parents did not claim me as a dependent). Does that factor in the issue?
I asked my CCC and they say they never heard of the issue so they have to review my case. But I will be transfer soon, should I contact the Financial Aid office at the university instead?

I really appreciate any explanation regarding this issue. Thank you so much.

If your parent income is below a certain amount, your income and assets would not be required. I believe that amount is $30,000…but I could be wrong. Plus I think they need to be able to either file a 1040EZ or 1040 A, or have received a means rested benefit.

Any chance you are from a very low income family?

@thumper1: thank you for the response. I was frustrated the whole time with this.
And yes, my family is low-income. I am not sure which form of tax report my parents filed but for sure the amount is way way lower than the $30,000.

But since I work and filled tax, do I need to submit my tax report also? Will my EFC would change a lot if I make more than my parents? (Although the total is still low though).

Thank you!

If you qualify for the simplified needs test based on your parents low income, and whatever other criteria, your income and assets are not included on the FAFSA (at least I think this is correct).
