1) Albert says I'm missing my transcripts :S I clearly saw my counselor successfully submit the scanned transcripts on Common App... what should I do now? Mail them to NYU (sealed and stamped by the school, signed acorss the flap by the principal and the counselor...but sent by me because it is too costly for the school, approximately $250!)?

I called NYU and a student ambassador told me to wait until the end of next week (this week) and if its still missing, call back... but im too anxious.

2) I am REALLY excited about NYU, I want it so bad. I applied ED II, and the notification date is sometime in mid February (I believe). Do you think that sending them a letter of intent highlighting my latest achievements and strongly emphasizing my deep and genuine interest in NYU and Stern will help?
I've applied EDII as I stated above; International Student, M+CR (best scores) : 1150, TOEFL iBT: 103

It certainly would not hurt for you to provide your interest in NYU and, in particular, any updates on achievements made after submission of your application.

My son faxed over information about awards, e.g., one on a state level received after submitting his application. He got in and received a scholarship to boot.

To be perfectly honest, I don’t think NYU considers much beyond the required materials. I got off the phone with one of the admissions reps yesterday to check the status of my recommendation letters (these aren’t teacher evaluations, they are additional recommendations from mentors) and she told me that NYU is still processing the enormous amount of mail that they received AND that they very rarely look at more than what is required due to the sheer volume of applicants. I was crushed at this because I really believed that these letters were a substantial part of my application.

As for the status of your applications on Albert: I believe they are still receiving all of the transcripts and additional materials. I still think you should call them just to make sure and confirm with your counselor.

same here,
seems like everyone didn’t get their reply yet
Albert says my submitted day is 1/6/11
but i submitted on 12/31/10
so i might call 14 business days after 1/6
i think u guys should call too~

Like centerklaus, I submitted my application on 12/31/10 and it says I submitted on 1/6/11. However, I mailed my transcript in October and it says that they are lacking my transcript. They may still be processing it, but I am resending it just in case.

I called NYU Admissions and the person told me that they didn’t sort through all their mail yet and are still processing each of the things they obtained. He said that everything should be done by Feb 1 and if they are missing something then they are going to e-mail people telling them what they are missing.

I have a personal update!
I sent all of my stuff en masse [transcript/ ED Agreement/ Counselors Statement yada yada yada]
I sent it through certified mail w/ UPS and the package was delivered on December 20th, 2010.
My Albert, up until this morning did not show my application to be complete. So, as ridiculous as it sounds to wait nearly 6 weeks… they are still processing.

mine still says that the transcript hasn’t been received too and it seems like everyone else is going through the same thing! just wait, like they told you. if it still is missing on monday, then worry about sending the transcript. good luck, but seriously, stop freaking out. I’m totally nervous/obsessed about getting in too, (NYU is amazing!) but it’s taking them a while to get all those applications organized!

I contacted admissions about a week ago and the person over the phone told me that Albert has not been updated yet and that they will start to notify students of missing materials in February. So don’t panic just yet, they just haven’t put it into Albert yet.

Hey I’m having the same problem too so don’t worry about it. Albert says that they haven’t received my transcript. I’m going to call in a couple of days and see what’s going on.
