Mistake in Essays

Hi guys, I'm not sure if this is a huge mistake or not, but I wanted your opinions:

In the UChicago optional essay, I had written that 'Holden Caulfield' is my favorite fictional character. However, in the 'Why UChicago?' essay, I'd used an example, where I'd written that Sherlock Holmes is my favorite fictional character. I re-read my essay 7 times, yet I couldn't spot this stupid mistake! Truth be told, they're both my favorites. But I'm not sure the person reading my essay will see it the same way. Do you think it'll affect my chances significantly?

Well you better hope that the admission officer misses that detail!

Well considering UChicago pays a great deal of attention to the essay, I doubt they’ll miss such a thing. Do you think it’ll hamper my chances significantly?

It’s difficult to say. Do both the characters play a significant part in each essay? Unless a major part of the essay is built around the characters, I don’t think it will harm you much.
