Mistake in UC App regarding my parent's citizenship status

When I started my UC App in the fall and got to the part where I had to choose whether or not my parents were U.S. citizens, I thought that they were both U.S. citizens. But now when I have to fill out my Statement of Legal Residency I find out that my father is a U.S. citizen but my mom isn't. Do you think my Statement of Legal Residency will be affected by what I put in my UC app, because I corrected it and put that my mom is not a U.S. citizen in the SLR.

I strongly believe you should call them and discuss it with them and NOT have them find out when they get around to reading your SAR which might not be for a while (like after deadlines to respond for other universities have passed.) Generally if one of your parents is a US citizen or you were born here, it shouldn’t be an issue, but for loans they are counting on in your financial aid package etc, it is possible it would be. You should update any incorrect info through the UC application portal (there are descriptions of what to do, I am vaguely remembering that you are supposed to send the info to a PO box and they send it to all UCs) but you should call the one you plan on attending. I’m not sure how it would be a problem, given your facts, but you should call or email and get clarification. If your mom is a permanent resident, it is even less likely to be an issue.
