Hello. I'm a counselor. I have mistyped my signature on my student's school report. Can I ask Common App to change it now? I have omitted an "O" in my first name.

Please answer me for it's very important to my student!

Please answer me for it's very important to my student!

Anyone can help?

That will be a problem. You must ask them everything about it and solve this problem ASAP.

Ask whom? CommonApp or the schools?

The Common App

Does the commonapp allow people to change their submitted forms? I’m so worried. I don’t want my careless mistakes to affect my student’s application. Everything is correct, except for the school report.

Contact them.

Or just try to message them on Facebook.

Check this post. It might help you.

Thank you so much harshal. Here is my problem: All my .pdf files/scanned files are correct. But when I pressed the button “Continue”, there is a notice like “I affirm that …”. Below that line is a signature box and a date. So mistyped my name in that signature box, not his recommendation letter or other reports.

Shall I contact them to change again?

Does anyone have any solution?

If the materials were accepted and submitted, that’s the only thing that matters. I don’t know whether the software is set to require a signature that exactly matches the accountholder name, but if it isn’t (and it sounds from your posts like it isn’t) then the misspelling in the signature block makes no difference to the recommendation. So long as the materials are actually submitted through the common app, you can disregard the misspelling. If you aren’t able to submit, then (and only then) you need to deal with common app directly to figure out how to proceed.

All the materials are submitted and downloaded. I’m just worried I mistyped my name in that box. I hope that doesn’t make any difference in his chances.

Is anyone sure about this? I don’t know whether the schools or Common App will check that signature.

Thank you guys once again.

It will make no difference. Your signature is not a factor in the decision process. No worries.

Thank you!

I did not know that it was not a big problem. Sorry oanhnguyen.

it’s okay harshal76. thanks for your help anyway :)
