<p>I’m wondering what goes on in the time period from the announcement of the upcoming release date and the actual release date. Are all decisions made by the time of the first announcement? Are there a “few” who still need to be decided on? How many is a few? Or is it just the last round of decisions that are going on during that time? Or did I miss some other possibilities?</p>
<p>Chris has said before that some applications are still being reviewed when they release the decision date. That’s why the date is 5-7 days after the announcement date.</p>

<p>All the decisions have to be reviewed by the dean of admissions before being released. that takes a couple of days.</p>

<p>I hope this isn’t an inaccurate assumption to make, but it seems that his reply would indicate that it indeed was an accident, and that will be the date.</p>
<p>I especially hope this since, upon seeing that, my girlfriend (freshman at MIT) bought bus tickets back home to be with me for the decision, at that time.
I feel like I shouldn’t have to stress about the decision decision date. I’m going to implode at the actual decision date.</p>
