MIT and boarding schools

I guess that’s why it is called MIT, not MILA.

ROFL!

Yep - the school is self selecting - but the new emphasis I’m seeing on building state-of-the-art math and science facilities at many BS’s may suggest the tide is turning. The US lags other developed countries in creating technical people. We shall see if that results in an uptick in students entering MIT from boarding school.

I think nowadays quite some ppl are trying to get to Wall Street through MIT

Hmmm…I hope that isn’t why my daughter picked MIT over Yale. I think I’m safe because she also turned down dear old dad’s alma mater, RPI, which still has an overwhelmingly male enrollment.

Haha Padre13, MIT has a female-male ratio of 1:1 now (slightly more men)

Am I right?lol all the MIT people I know are girls hehe. But you can still go to Wellesley if you’re a guy haha.

Ha!

There were cute guys among the “never seen the daylight” nerds at MIT. But the cool thing about MIT was just how many colleges with cute guys were within a few mile radius. BU, Boston College, Harvard, Berkeley School of Music, etc… (and within driving distance Brown, Dartmouth, Brandeis, Tufts, etc.)
