MIT Application

A while back I heard about Questbridge and I decided to apply for the National College Match, however I was a bit short on time and I had to rush to get everything submitted, especially the essays. I ranked MIT as my number one school. I was chosen as a finalist. Since I hadn't yet taken my SAT Subject Tests, I decided to wait and apply Regular Action to MIT. Now that I have set up my MIT account, I noticed that my Questbridge application was forwarded to MIT, so they got all my essays I wrote for Questbridge. They also got the teacher recs I submitted to Questbridge. I didn't know my Questbridge application was going to be used for MIT and the essays I wrote for Questbridge are not very good in my opinion. I actually wanted to spend my time doing these essays since I really want to attend MIT. Should I make a new MIT account and sumbit everything all over again, or should I just leave it as is and continue the application? What should I do?

My first action would be to email admissions. Visit the MIT admissions site and you’ll find an email address. I’m sure they’ll clear the essays if you request and they’ll change your application to RD. Keep in mind they are very busy this time of year, so be prepared to wait a couple days. Good luck!

Thank you for replying, I will definitely try that.
