MIT Class of 2021 Applicants

update: http://mitadmissions.org/blogs/entry/not-all-heroes-wear-capes-but-some-carry-tubes-on-pi-day

Does anyone know if there is a group me for MIT RD 2021? Thanks

@dling64 there is, its called “hopeful adMITs to c/o 2021!”

So excited!

Just a question, did anyone think that they “failed” their interview but ended up getting in?

Riri Williams is very Yes. She should blog a bit more often, though–I’d love to hear about her experiences at MIT.

I thought the tubes were only for regular admits? (I don’t know if this is outdated)

I didn’t apply to MIT, but a friend of mine did and I am very excited. Quick q, what is this about “tubes”…?

@aabraham It used to be only EA applicants got tubes, but now all, from what I know, accepted students get one
@potato16 tubes are the equivalent of an acceptance letter, except they contain other things like balloons, confetti…

@ManaManaWegi oh cool. So it’s a literal tube that has stuff in it? Intense

Can anyone share the link of group me for MIT RD 2021 please?

Is there some mathematical significance to the tube other than being circular?

the electric field through a cylinder is q/2piLr*e and decisions are released on pi day so obviously it has something to do with the attraction you’ll feel to MIT after receiving one @nw2this

(yikes tfw you realize you made a mistake in your physics and there’s no L in that term but you took an L on your post)

6 daysss yall

@v4b5n6 we used to ship admits posters until our chief poster-maker graduated and then we didn’t have any new posters anymore

now we just stuff them w/ goodies

Who cares what you put inside @MITChris, just send them our way

oprah af

YOU GET A TUBE. AND YOU GET A TUBE.

I have never seen another University as chill as MIT.

@MITChris , As a parent, I really appreciate the approach you take to this process - injecting it with humor, not taking yourself too seriously, and student-focused. It’s a breath of fresh air.
