@frazzledazzle Thank you! And good luck to you, too!
RIP me. Just got rejected from Cornell even with a 34 ACT and three 800s on subject tests. At least i got out of the binding contract for the MIT EA
@299792458 Hey! I was as well rejected from Cornell with similar grades But who knows what we might see this Thursday… Let’s just hope for the better!
I’ve found tha MIT is a lot less about the numbers than other schools. They stay true to the holistic approach. I wish y’all the best!
so nervous
Does everyone have the red financial aid box when they log into mymit? When did it show up for everyone?
@dudeboy5474 Yes, I do.
Ever since submitting my application, I’ve been thinking of all the aspects of me that can hurt or help with admissions. I kinda know that I’ll not get in, but I still have this faint hope of a miracle. Maybe they will be touched by my passion for science although I don’t have international awards?
Anyway, good luck everyone! Being able to apply is already an accomplishment!
@HappySquirrel Same. I always end with the same conclusion. There is nothing I can do about it now. All there is to do is wait and hope for the best.
@hermione2018 near Toronto
@vik0likes0cs Lol you replied to wrong person
Depends on your essays I think @masterbakers
Anyone applying regular decision?
@littlechild I am! I would’ve applied EA but I had to retake the SAT and subject tests.
@hermione2018 I’m happy to hear about MIT being more holistic than some other schools cough Caltech cough. Hoping my passion for astronomy shines out in my essays and my ECs/interview get me in. Haven’t finished my application and I’m already thinking of decision day lol. Pi day can’t come soon enough.
@frazzledazzle SAME! I wanted to apply Early Action too, but then my GLC said that they only that the cream of the crop during Early and that I probably would have a better chance during RD… This school is still my number one. I hope for it to be a holistic process…
@littlechild It’s my number 1 as well! I actually visited in April as a joke (I remember hating MIT in February) since the school I actually wanted to visit - that is no longer on my list - was completely booked. Completely fell in love! What do you want to study? Good luck to you during this process!
@frazzledazzle At the moment, I’m not too sure anymore. However, definitely something in the STEM field. I kind of fell in love with MIT after reading the blogs and doing my own research. What do you want to study? Good luck to you too!
@littlechild I want to study physics and planetary astronomy (probably a double major or something) with a music minor if I can squeeze it in.
The blogs are amazing!
Anyone else had a non-mech E major in mind then became uncertain after watching the 2.009 presentations?
@equality4all yes!!! Glad I’m not the only one lol
