MIT EA Deferred Applicants

Hello EA deferred people!
We will have to wait another several months.
Where else are you applying for RD now?

Princeton, Harvard, JHU, Duke, Rice, UPenn, UVa, Boston University, and Ga Tech. Now I have so many essays to do :(

Only Penn M&T!

^You’re really going to bank on MIT and a program that has a 5% acceptance rate?

^ I think he got into Caltech already.
Congrats, Hitman!

while I await my inevitable rejection from MIT in march/april, I’m applying to RPI, RIT, UMass Amherst, Northeastern, Tufts, Carnegie Mellon U, and Princeton (for ****s and giggles)

CMU, UPenn, and Lehigh!

I’m actually really happy I got deferred. I think at one point I was too obsessed with the school. So now I’m actually really happy if I get into MIT or CMU, and if I get into MIT, it’ll be all the sweeter :D

There is no better victory than having taken your goal to the finish line. Don’t give up, guys.

Yeah, I think I was obsessed too much with MIT. I am anxious for March, and I will do everything I can to strengthen my application. I already got into Purdue and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology so I’ll be okay. Deferral isn’t the end.

Already into Case Western, also deferred from Columbia
Going to apply to at least Tufts, Chicago, maybe Princeton or Harvard

Do they automatically re-consider our applications? What do we need to do if we want to submit changes? I kinda thought we could edit our essays and stuff, but it seems like we can only send a letter and say, “Hey, I’m the president of another extracurricular.” Help?

^You can notify MIT of new awards or recent accomplishments (e.g., being a National Merit finalist, Intel semi-finalist/finalist, additional achievements in your extracurricular activities, etc.)

You can’t change it in the sense of changing your essays / application, but you can send in news. For instance, I won a statewide award, and so I notified MIT about it when I was deferred.
