I'm so thrilled to be accepted by MIT (real clincher too - called in this morning), but is anyone else applying to other schools? I sent out Harvard, Princeton, and Stanford way back in November and got everything else ready in case of deferral.

I had sent an app to CUNY Honors almost a month ago. But I'm definitely not doing any more applications! I'm going to enjoy my Christmas because I know I wouldn't wanna go anywhere else. :)

I just did the UCs (due nov 30) and was gonna do Penn, but got accepted...so, i'm done!

Did Berkeley, doing Stanford cuz of Asian mother ("They have a better financial aid package! ), their app is pretty annoying (CHARACTER limits on essays ***?!)

MIT is #1 though.

I applied to Caltech and MIT (EA) and Carnegie Mellon, Cornell, and Harvey Mudd (RD) to be on the safe side. lol

Well, I found out about my MIT acceptance today (I'm ecstatic), and Caltech also sent me an acceptance earlier this week, but MIT is of course #1 on my list. :-)

I did Michigan and got in a while back, and I got in Caltech on Monday. w00t.

Also sent out USC and preparing for Princeton and WUSTL.

I applied to:

MIT (accepted)
Caltech (deferred)
UCB, UCLA, UCSB, UCSD (mid-march decision)
Whitworth College (accepted with honors)
Rensselaer (decision soon)
Vanderbilt (mid-march decision)

Of those, initially Caltech was tops on my list, but since my MIT interview I've been slowly changing my mind, and now after the EA decisions came in, I think it's pretty apparent that I'm going to MIT.

I had already sent out 3 other apps (accepted by Ga Tech yesterday, how anti-climactic, lol). I was going to apply to 10 total, but since I was admitted to MIT I'm dropping the rest except for the combined BA/MD program schools, Northwestern and WUSTL. If I get in those extra selective programs I might consider going. Otherwise, MIT! ^_^

i got accepted into caltech and mit.. still waiting for uchicago. i applied to some ivies and some tech schools, but im thinking of withdrawing a few :)

got in georgetown early ^ ^

johns hopkins, rice, yale, harvard, caltech...yes, i know the fact that there aren't any safety schools in that bunch was really tempting fate. ugh. but of course it doesn't matter now, though i will not make that mistake for grad school/med school admission ;)

no other schools. All done, hurrah

applied to Harvard and Yale regular decision (mailed before I heard from MIT, of course - I wouldn't have sent them otherwise)... but I'm 99.999% sure I'm going to MIT - hope to see you all there!

same as gigog, im waiting for decisions from stanford and harvard, but im pretty sure its gonna be mit even if i got into both.

I got into MIT, Caltech, and RPI (my safety) early action. I'm still waiting on Harvard, but it looks like I'll end up at MIT or Caltech.

I was admitted early action to Babson, Georgetown, and the University of Chicago. I was actually deferred from MIT, but feel compelled to start making decisions on the off-chance that I am admitted RA.

Everyone I talk to has a different opinion on what makes one school better than the other. Unfortunately for me, I will not be able to visit and make my own decision. This leaves me somewhat dependant on the thoughts, observations, and experiences of others.

I was wondering if you all could please tell me, what, in your mind, makes MIT the absolute best place on earth. Of course, I have my own ideas, but your could really help me make my decisions.

I sure appreciate it.

Also, if anyone would like to make a comment about where I ought to go - base don the fact that I want to own and manage technology corporations with an emphasis on robotics - I would be equally grateful.

Thanks for all your time, typing, and incite!
