MIT Maker Portfolio Questions

I was wondering if it would be appropriate to use something I made in a regional STEM competition for my maker portfolio. It’s somewhat simplistic, but I could show it working, and relates to my intended major/minor of electrical engineering/biomedical engineering. I made it with a team of a few other students in one day with limited materials, but I would make this clear in the portfolio. Would it be better if I changed the design or added something to it to show that I’ve been working with it since the event?

Also, is it acceptable to talk about/show a project I’m currently working on? I would show whatever part of it I have working and would talk about my plan for it in the future.

I would think that’s fine. I think it can be anything as long as you made it.
