<p>I've heard a lot of people talk about an optional essay that MIT (apparently) accepts, but I can't seem to find it on my application. Could someone tell me what everyone's talking about when they refer to the "optional essay"?</p>

<p>That’s additional info part right? My son said he will not put an essay there, just some “additional info” that can be placed anywhere else.</p>
