Hey,
I am currently applying to MIT and I noticed that MIT has a separate Letters of Recommendation submission website. My Letters are submitted by my counselor as part of my high school transcript, so I’m just wondering what I should do… Also it says that they’re due today and I don’t know if that means that they need to be there today or if I need to send the request by today… Please help a somewhat distraught/perplexed senior :3
Thanks,
StrongJoshua
I think you just have to send the request by today. All that is due today is from you.
So I do have to separately request with their ApplyWithUs website? I just read a blog post ( http://mitadmissions.org/blogs/entry/about_mit_recommendation_lette ) saying they will take Naviance E-Doc recommendations, which is what my school uses, so what does that mean?
In my D’s school the letters are submitted by Naviance too, which means they automatically go out with the material that the high school sends. She did not have to do anything separate for MIT.
So that means that I can ignore that website?
Yes. To check for sure, go into your MY MIT account and they will have a checklist of the material received. (After you submit Part 1 of the app you will be able to set one up). If, for some reason the teachers did not submit them, I believe that you will get a little leeway, so long as you have submitted your app on time. Also, don’t worry if the checklist hasn’t been updated yet. It may take them time. You can always call the office tomorrow.
You’re right, after I submitted Part 1 I checked and the school had already received my Teacher Evaluations! Thanks for your help
