MIT short essay clarification?

Hi, one of the MIT Short answer essays on the application this year is this:

"Although you may not yet know what you want to major in, which department or program at MIT appeals to you and why? (*) (100 words or fewer)"

I am interested in the Sloan School of Management Science. I'm confused if they are asking me to write about why I am interested in management in general, in which case I would write about how my summer job made me want to pursue this, or if they are asking me to write about why the specific programs at MIT Sloan make me interested in going there. If it's the latter, should I assume that the adcoms know why I'm interested in management, and solely focus on why I want to take my pursuit to MIT instead of any other business school?

It's really difficult talking about just one of those topics in under 100 words, so I don't think they want me to write about both at the same time. Anyways, help would be appreciated!

bump - would really appreciate an answer!!! lol

They are asking you if you are close to choosing a major and why that major.

Is management science offered as an undergrad major? if so talk about it and why you want to major in it. Summer jobs don’t make anyone pursue a major. It is one’s career goals that get you interested in a major.

It is a serious question although you only have 100 words. so put some thought into what it is you want to pursue in college and how it ties ot what you want to do in life.

Texaspg - thanks for the response.

If I may ask, what exactly do you mean by writing about “one’s career goals”? Does that just mean what occupation I want to be when I graduate?
