@anonymous522083 hmm… how many time did you take the ACT?
The thing is, the SAT and ACT are an indicator of your college readiness, so the fact that you have a 28 superstores might raise eyebrows. Also, the fact that your academic record is high doesn’t necessarily mean anything you could be taking extremely easy classes, no APs, etc.
extremely rigorous and high
5 ap courses and in the ib program
well lets just say the eusperscore is out of three exams
@anonymous522083 hm. That’s the weirdest case I’ve seen… Is there a reason your test score is so low? Or maybe why your GPA is high? Is it a 4.0? I know IB classes are hard, but some teachers don’t assign homework, so it’s easy to get an A. Is that the case here?
The fact that your score is so low, especially since it’s super scored, definitely sets off red flags.
I am justa bad test taker and never finish because I take my time
I have an average grade of 98+
@MangoLover11223 What you said about test scores is completely wrong. Yes, this person test scores are lower than the standard, but that doesn´t mean he/she have a lower chance than anyone else. @anonymous522083 The admissions people put a lot of emphasis on the essays, so if you do good on them you should be fine. Also for your 6th essay, you could explain how standardized test taking doesn´t prove your academic ability
Is a superscore of 28 really that bad?
Ps I never finish any of the subjects so I think that score is pretty good. (I guess on like 10-15 0on each so just saying
@Youngmis123 hmm… okay well if you want to believe that, sure. The thing is the test is supposed to measure how ready you are for college- read the description of the test. Don’t get me wrong, and 28 is not a bad score. But when it’s superscored it might put you at a disadvantage. Granted, they do look at essays, but ultimately they want to know if you can even handle the courses @anonymous522083
This is all speculation though. You should apply anyway because you won’t know for sure until you get a letter of your decision
ACT doesn’t measure intelligence performance on knowledge based exams which are in the transcript. One can be a really good test taker like at act and sat however they do not measure knowledge in the subject. Someone could have a really high but really have no knowledge of science. My friend sucks at science and knows nothing about science but has a high science score due to just reading comprehension skills.
@anonymous522083 are you a minority race? If so, then it really doesn’t matter. Also the use of punctuation is not illegal lol.
@anoymous522083 Ultimately they want to see that you are a minority student who has a strong passion for science but lack the resources at home or school. They want to groom you so you become a dedicated scientific leader that can impact your community and the world. If you show these qualities in your application you should be fine. There are some people who have low scores but still get in because they demonstrated those qualities. Especially if you are a URM with a low economic background, no offense to those who are not URM, the score that you have is a target score for them because they don´t have of a good school district or even to afford to participate in an SAT/ACT class. The MITES program usually target the URMS and Asians with a strong passion for science.
@Youngmis123 is correct. However, you said they target Asians. That’s not necessarily correct. Yes they do accept Asians but the program is for minorities in STEM and Asians are not a minority at all. In fact they are considered an ORM
I am hispanic and from an underserved community

@anonymous522083 Just like you I have a low PSAT superscore of 990 (10th-grade year)
I going to explain in the 6th Essay that standardized test scores don´t indicate your academic ability and determination and hard work always determines someone success. A great example is that when I saw my last PSAT score (930) in December, I started strategically pacing my self and practice problems and when I took the Diagnostic Test for Princeton Review class administered by the school I got 1140 on that test.
@anonymous522083 Send me your stats to see what you can do to stand out
