MITES 2019

Can anyone answer my question?

Just woke up and found out I got accepted in MITES!!

about 2300 ppl applied this year

MITES says you cannot start late or leave early

When I applied, my parents started out with 20k but the business blew up so now its 50k so idk

Does anyone know how many people get accepted? Is it like a big program with 100s of people or smaller?

@broski
Around 70 get into MITES
Around 110 get into MOSTEC

I got into MOSTEC!! but I also got into SSP with pretty good financial aid… What would you guys recommend?

Got into MOSTEC. =/

@lolazo mites/mostec have acceptance rates of about 8% and ssp has an acceptance rate of 20% - 25%. You decide.

@PhysicsIsNotPhun this year, the acceptance rate was 11%. I don’t know where you are getting 20-25% from.

lol some guy got banned for posting a link to a MITES/MOSTEC group chat, what a fool. I, an intellectual, have made a new group chat that just so happens to be identical to the first person’s group chat, what a coincidence.

Why tomorrow @jflowj ?

@broski I actually know a guy last year who was accepted to MITES but emailed the OEOP and asked to be switched to MOSTEC and it worked out for him. I’m not sure if the OEOP will be doing those switches again for this year but I highly recommend emailing the OEOP and see if it’s possible.

@slothss ok so MITES most likely won’t let you come late. I’m not sure what dates the program start this year. But based off last year, you will arrive on a Saturday, take diagnostic exams the next day, and classes start the day right after that. Basically, starting late puts you behind in the program so I don’t think it’s possible.

Also it doesn’t seem to be possible to switch from MOSTEC to MITES just in case anyone here was wondering.

how many people are put on the waitlist/ how many people are typically admitted from the list?

I don’t know how many are on the WL, but I can remember 3 people at MITES 18 who were admitted off the WL
@slothss

@Schuh07 and @CoolChem are you guys MITES alumni? if yes, can you tell us what your schedule was like? I am trying to get a picture of what to expect.

Does anyone know what the MOSTEC “academic phase” looks like? Is it completely self-paced kind of like MOOC’s or do you have to attend online lectures at specific times?
