Mitte Decision Letters

Piemastarr.. you are deff inside the 10 % for our grade.. It mind boggles me that you didn't get in

Just some random thoughts.....

I think it would be really interesting to find out the breakdown of admittees' GPAs. With Piemastarr's 3.9 not guaranteeing admission, you wonder how many 4.0s got in.

re: ECs, does having a leadership position matter?

I'm also wondering about the importance of the essay and, especially, the teacher rec. If I'm not mistaken, most applicants get their rec from their Business Presentations prof. Perhaps performance in this class should be viewed as an audition for Mitte.(?)

I thought recommendations we're from one's K201/204 professor.

I'm sorry. You're right, vguy.

The essay probably wasn't that important.. the topic was What impact would you like to have on the world?.. and I wrote about how I didn't want any impact and I just wanted to become a successful businessman..

while being ethical of course.

do not worry if you do not get into mitte. the mitte honors society takes a variety of students and just having a stellar gpa doesn't guarantee you a spot.

there are so many other opportunities for outstanding kelley students to take advantage of. Try joining a club that recruits and interviews rather than just being one of a hundred in the larger clubs. honestly, recruiters are not just looking for what you do academically (that really just gets you an interview spot), they are looking for interesting, well-rounded students with stories to tell of their experiences in clubs, societies, internships, and studies.

i was not accepted into mitte with a 3.8 last year, but i am still in hutton. I am on the executive board of the two societies I am involved with and a leader in my greek organization. I am interning in Washington, DC this summer and during the interview, never once was I asked about honors programs (GPAs speak for themselves).

Well good luck to all of you and don't get discouraged if you are not accepted! Get motivated to get involved and experience Kelley!
