Hi everyone,
Finally there is something to report that's not completely dreary. We got a letter today saying that there isn't hope at this very moment but there may be by mid June. The tone was more positive than not.
We're happy for any little ray of hope!!
Thanks for all the good vibes everyone.

I'm crossing my fingers in a BIG way for you and your son, Andi.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Crossing every digit or limb available to cross.

Good luck! You should probably contact the admissions office and reaffirm that Swarthmore is still your first choice, etc.

Oh, I so hope this works out for your son! Sending good thoughts your way . . .

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!! everyone is rooting for your son!!

Thanks! It may take a month or two or three but at least there's been some sign of encouragement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It could be that your son is on their very short list of possible admittees (is that a word?). They obviously think highly of him. Wishing you a great outcome.

Andi,
Although I haven't posted very much, I have been following your son's saga for quite a while now. It must be so difficult to have patience to wait this process out. Maybe you can exhale for a few weeks, at least until mid-June. The previously given advice to contact the admissions office again is very good advice. I wish your son the best of luck!

Yup, I agree with the other posters about it being a great idea to write them a note of continued interest, and I am so glad they are showing continued interest in your DS!!!

Andi,
I got that letter too. I hope your son gets good news instead of mixed in the next mailing.

You too insertnamehere. Aside from the fact that you're into a great school, it seems like you had a somewhat similar trend in your results. I hope you both get off the wait list and that there weren't a zillion of these letters sent. Did you think the letter was encouraging or not?
andi

Good luck to both of you! Crossing my fingers and toes for a positive outcome =)

Someone described this as getting a 'likely' letter for the wait list.

That's great news, andi. I echo everyone else's sentiments here...

Andi, thank you for posting - I and others have thought about you often, but want to give you space to make reports, because we know it is a tough, sensitive issue - prayers, hugs and good wishes to you and son.

Wish andi and insertnamehere the best!

My D got one of those letters as well.

Which may be not such great news for andi. Could these letters have gone out to everyone still on the list?

(best wishes to andi and family from maryland, too)

andi - what cangel said. we need a "hopeful" smiley

The fact that they say there is even a possibility for movement on the wait list is more than they've been telling us. For the last 7 weeks there hasn't even been that.
And hey, the letter made it sound like they actually 'cared.' We'll take it!!
