MLC/Residential Program acceptance being announced

My D just called me that she has been accepted into WISE RP. The housing contract is available already. It seems they are announcing the result for residential program earlier than schedule (originally in June). Perhaps they want to have it done before the orientation sessions starting next week. If you did apply to any MLC and received the result, post here so we know how competitive each program is this year.

My daughter applied and was accepted to LHSP, as was her intended roommate.

We were told last week to expect the decision by this Saturday.

My daughter has older friends in the community, and they are leading special MLC sessions during orientation for the accepted students.

I got accepted into MCSP today, along with my friend.

@DeaconBlues That is great. It must be more difficult to get both roommates accepted together.

Recently been accepted to MRC and received an incredible housing contract rate ($14,024 per year). Can anyone confirm that this cost has not been affected by financial aid.

@Snayyan09 Why is it so expensive? The housing cost should not be affected by the financial aid. The higher rate for single with private bath is $13,558. Even with additional meal dollar would still be less than $14,024.

@‌Billcsho

They are thrilled. They knocked themselves out on their essays and questions. They were very determined it was the right place for them.

Add one more to the count for accepted MLC- another for LHSP, my daughter’s other friend was also accepted, and she just heard from him tonight.

So far, I have heard only 1 rejection from WISE. That is my D’s classmate.

@Snayyan09‌ I have contacted the housing office before and they said the top rate for the single room with private bath is not available to freshman and MRC is for freshman only. So your rate looks really high for freshman. Is there any special options you have added?

My D got in to the LHSP.

My daughter was accepted into WISE RP and she is really excited! She is coming from a small school so this will definitely help her transition to a large university.

@HSM1417 Great. So far we have 2 out of 105 WISE RP freshman reported here. Does your D specify a roommate? Mine didn’t.

@billcsho‌ No, it was just given to me. Although, i did put private bathroom as a preference.

@Snayyan09 You definitely should ask the housing office. What was the rate group or room type preference on your application. Which meal plan option did you pick on Page 1? Your rate is higher the the group A rate. You should probably figure it out before signing the contract.

@billcsho Mine did not specify a roommate either. We are OOS and, although 5 other girls from her school are going to UofM, none of the others applied to WISE that she knows of. The girl from her school that she is closest to is living in LSA honors housing. My D is COE by the way.

@HSM1417 My D is in CoE too. I am sure she will meet you D some day.
