<p>Is it mandatory to attend MMW discussion class? What do you usually do in there beside go over what going during last lecture? Do they take attendance? </p>

<p>for the college writing classes, the discussions are more important than the lectures - your TAs are the ones who lead the discussions, evaluate your papers, and eventually assign your grade.</p>
<p>MMW discussion sections are definitely mandatory. I think you might only get one or two excused absences or your grade drops.</p>
