Well, we have a parent on the plaintiff too (Spangler- he’s the one that’s suing)
But that’s so cool. Do your cases always try to teach some sort of lesson? Ours always do. In my years on the team we’ve have reckless driving, defamation of a teacher (online), assault and now drunk driving.

big mock trial nerd here!
People v Woodson
I did a direct, two crosses, and closings for the defense and was an expert witness for the prosecution
we lost in the semi finals of our county tournament and did not make it to state which was a major bummer haha

I don’t think ours try to teach a lesson… We’ve done one where a kid got shot by a security guard, aggravated robbery, and attempted murder. I think that might be because we’ve only done criminal cases til now though.

It seems a lot of people did People vs. Woodson…

Well, California’s a big mock trial state.

Our team went 4-0 in the first 4 guaranteed rounds and we’re in the eight-team, single-elimination tournament. Quarterfinals on Wednesday night.

Bumping this for anybody who’s in the end stages of competition. I have county semifinals (and hopefully finals (knock on wood)) tomorrow!

Thanks for posting CA’s case! Very interesting…

So are all of you planning to continue mock trial in college? :)

While I’m asking…which colleges have the best mock trial teams?

ME!

From what I’ve heard: NYU, UVirginia, Harvard, UCLA, Cal. And there are others that I can’t think of off the top of my head.

Also, our team won our county competition today and will be in state competition at the end of the month!

I’m definitely planning on doing Mock Trial in college!
