Since many of you probably don't know, one of my ECs is starting the Linguistics Club in my high school. It was done out of capriciousness--an idea when I was bored in Algebra II last year.
Most of my ideas so far have been more out of entertainment purposes rather than anything that looks stellar on college applications. Well, a few days ago I guess I was looking at these forums and had the idea to hold an experimental "Mock" Model UN at my club to see if it is satisfactory and entertaining. If it works, I plan on expanding it and doing it more than once. Now, my question is: would it look better to say I was president of the Linguistics Club or the Model UN club? And, if they both exist but are part of the same club, can I write I started both? xD

I would go with the MUN club. I’ve been attending MUN the past few years, and it’s immensely rewarding and fun, plus probably more recognized by colleges. I would give that a try, it’s a lot of work but generally pretty fun and a positive experience. I’m not quite sure what you mean by “if they both exist but are part of the same club, can I write I started both?”. How can MUN and linguistics be apart of the same club?

Well, the Linguistics Club that I run isn’t particularly popular, so most of the time I do things unrelated to linguistics in the first place. Also, it is too much work/possibly impossible to find another advisor, and my advisor is okay about us running a Model UN. So I can get it registered or whatnot, but it would probably be easier to have Model UN just co-habit with my current club.
