Does anyone know if you can modify a U of M app after it’s been submitted? I know you can go in and change courses, grades and test scores, but I’m talking about the section where you enter your “essays” and extracurriculars. DS really skimped on that section and left out a lot of awards and extracurriculars as well as completely skipped one short essay.
I’ve looked everywhere and can’t see that there’s a way to get back into that. I may have him send an email to admissions when he gets back from a vacation he’s on, but thought I’d ask here first.
Never mind. Figured it out. It can’t be modified without calling the admissions office.
Yes, call and pull the app and finish if at all possible. Don’t skimp anywhere. Answer every question/prompt possible. Send in essays and recommendations if you think they will add to your application. Be very detailed when it comes to describing why you chose your major, and do the same for 2nd choice. They get to decide your future options and you have one shot at it. Never overestimate your chances at any school.
@CAmom01 - Thank you. He submitted a question in the app and they told him to email admissions, which he did…4 days ago now. Not sure if we should give it more time or try someone else. I’m told they almost exclusively go by GPA and test scores, but they also use the app for all scholarships.
I really wish he wouldn’t have submitted before having me at least give it a look over first…
@cshell2 Agree with GPA, scores and rigor first. Primary screen at GPA I feel like. Had two kiddos last year in the admissions process. Long story, but in our case the answers and extra everything were what pulled him into his first choice college
