Fitness is a big component. Do you want to serve in the US military ? It’s a huge commitment . If you wouldn’t choose to attend a service academy if you had to pay, then you shouldn’t apply to a service academy. They also have very strict requirements for medical history and certain conditions eliminate you from consideration .
