Back in May I took the SAT and scored a poor 1420. I took a prep course for 6 months, but I barely studied on my own time. In June I took the ACT for the first time and scored a 20, because I didn't have a chance to study at all. In September (registered) and October I plan on retaking the ACT and I'm aiming for a 25+. (I don't need an extremely high score for the schools I'm applying to)I know that I can do better this time around, because I've been practicing over the summer, my focus is better and I now have experience in terms of taking the exam. Overall, I didn't find the exam to be hard it's just that I felt overwhelmed and overly confident. After speaking with my mom about my scores, she feels as if I should give the SAT one more shot in addition to the ACT just to see what I'd get. I explained to her that I needed at least a 1700 to submit to my desired colleges and she feels that I may have a chance to achieve such score. I haven't been prepping for the SAT in a while, because my focus is set on the ACT and personally I just don't think a 280 point increase will happen over 2 months. Prepping for both exams doesn't seem to make much sense to me and it's best that I focus only on the ACT, but my mom thinks otherwise. Any thoughts or ideas?

You should get the BB and take a few tests to see where your scores fall. If it stays the same as your May score then just prep for ACT.

Ok , thanks.
