Money, NMF, and U of Ok and other colleges

So today I got a mail telling me I'm a National Merit Finalist. I also got a thing from the University of Oklahoma promising me full tuition, room, and board. Cost is a pretty important thing for me in my applications. Currently I was accepted to UW-Madison and have not received any info about finaid. I was also accepted to UMN and was awarded $5000 a year (both are instate tuition) and to UMich with no aid (so far - my fingers are cross).

So, does anyone know how U of Ok's Electrical and Mechanical Engineering programs compare to UMN and UW's? Also, are there any schools with decent Mech. and Elec. Engineering programs that give decent amounts of aid for National Merit Finalists who designate them as their first choice? I know there are a lot but I don't know if any have decent engineering programs.

EDIT: I should also mention that it has to be a place that I have not missed the application deadline for. xD

University of Texas At Dallas. Full tuition and mandatory fess for four years. $5000 cash award each year. $1000 housing award each year. That's what D got in the mail for NMF.

I do not believe U of Ok gives full tuition, room and board to OOS NMF. Make sure you read their fine print. A $6000 TO $7000 gap from their NMF scholarship toward full ride. (It is, however, a very generous scholarship)

Oh? I must have misunderstood it then...

UMN seems to be the best deal, so far. That's what I'd do.

No, OU gives a FULL RIDE to OOS students, valued at nearly $84,000! And a lot of perks too. The gap in funds is usually filled in by the engr. school or other scholarships. I have many friends from TX who go there OOS and they actually pick up overage checks every semester! Also look into TX A&M. They give close, or close to full rides for NMF, and they are a GREAT engineering school(and the weather is MUCH beter than MN or WI. I believe both schools are still taking apps.

Texas A&M is half-tuition. Texas Tech is full tuition. Baylor University is full tuition + some stipends. CSLB is full tuition. University of Tulsa is also full tuition+room&board for 4 years.

A&M waives the OOS tuition differential and then piles on about $14,000 of scholarships. Add to that a study abroad stipend and some other small things. That is just about a full ride for NMF. They will also give you up to $300 to come and visit them if you are OOS. It is a GREAT deal for a great engineering program!

Tulsa is a full ride.
Alabama offers everything except for food, but adds $1000 cash a year, $2500 for a fellowship or study abroad, and a laptop.
I think UCF has a comparable package to Alabama.
Fordham offers full tuition.
Texas offers in state tuition, and is a great school, same with Florida.

A&M deadline is passed.

For any school that actively recruits NMFs and the deadline is passed, I would call their NM office and see if they are still taking them as long as the date to declare them as #1 school has not passed.

I agree with bandnerd. I am sure a phone call to their National Merit office(NOT admissions!) might be welcome, even though their normal deadlines have passed. These big NM recruiting schools all have a whole staff whose only job is to entice NMFs to come. OU would probably pay your travel costs as well. They did ours.
