My son was rejected from CCM, CM, SUNY, Julliard, and Michigan (academically). He was accepted at Montclair State University's Musical Theater Program, which was his safety school. He is feeling pretty down about all the rejections and not too good about Montclair. Can anybody tell what they know of the program, is it a good program? Is it a respected program? How successful are graduate of the program?

The daughter of a friend is there right now. I think she is minoring in theater. She has worked on many of the productions and feels they are top notch. She didn't know about their success rate after graduation, but she is very happy with their program

I've heard a lot of good things about Montclair's theater programs (I live in North Jersey). Tech theater especially is supposed to be very good. Everyone I know who goes or has gone there has been satisfied. Also, it's 12 miles from Manhattan with buses and trains that run in every day that stop right at the school, which is great for connections. The facilities are also very nice...I used to act and I did a couple shows on some of the MSU stages... very nice.
