MOOCs help Admission?

I don't know if anyone here knows much about MOOCs, but I thought I'd ask anyway. They're Massive Open Online Courses and are free, online, and of course any one can take them. Does completing some look good on applications or should I not even bother putting them there? I'll still take them for the knowledge, but I was just wondering if it'd help at all. If anyone knows anything they'd like to share that'd be great. :D

My kid had a couple last year and put them in the ‘additional information’ section of the Common App because they are not for college or high school credit. She made sure she followed through the certification process on each of them so she could state she was certified. I think they have very little impact, she just wanted to learn something about an area she didn’t have time to fit in her high school schedule.

I think a completed MOOC would mainly demonstrate that you actively sought enrichment. A good thing.
