Hi everyone,

Starting my Junior year, I was on path to Berkeley. I had a 4.0 uw UC, a decent UC SAT, and Berkeley worthy extra curricular activities. Albeit I was in good standing to apply and get in, I let my problems at home stand before my school studies this year. I finished with about a 3.1 weighted (with 3 APs and 6 AP tests), it wasn't because of my course load, but because of my state of mind. I want to suck up the mistakes I made this year, learn from the mistakes, and maintain straight As at a Community College.

Moorpark is neither a good or bad CC. It's known to try to keep its good students for more than two years (counselors are bad). It's 5 miles away, won't give me an undergrad freshman experience, but it wouldn't distract me from my studies (Ventura County). Although I'd be able to focus on my goals, it'd be hard to maintain extra curricular activities (literally, the middle of no where). I've heard that it's "so easy, that you could lose track on what is is you want to do".

On the other hand, there is SBCC. I'd get a great undergrad experience, it's beautiful, 20 miles from home, I could get a job, it has dorms, and I could afford it. It's slightly harder, but I could handle it.

Which should I chose? I plan to transfer to Berkeley (or Stanford) for Political Science. My SAT is a solid 2120 and by the time I graduate, I'll have 16 APs (ostensibly, not for sure).

Besides helping me chose, please tell me about your personal experiences from both schools, too! Or what you've heard! It'd help a lot :)
