Hello everyone,
So, I graduated from HS 2 years ago (2016) and went to a not-so-great state school in MN. I was able to get in-state tuition as well as an additional scholarship, bringing the tuition to less than 10k a year. However, I did not have the best experience there academically (I think part of it was because I chose bad gen-ed classes and did not really try that hard). My grades were not the greatest, my GPA at the end of my freshman year was around a 2.8, and I blamed it more so on the school than myself. Anyway, I transferred back home, took a year off and am currently at my local CC. But the dilemma I am now facing is that I am totally unsure of where I should go next spring/fall.
I was already accepted at Loyola University Chicago for Spring 2019. I can go there, but it would be 30K a year tuition PLUS housing. Which I think is crazy expensive for the next 2.5 years. I love Loyola and I know they have a great business program, but I don’t know if its worth going into THAT much debt over. Recently, I have been talking to a few friends who think I should either: A. Go back to my old University or B. Find a cheaper school to go to. My family is not going to help me pay, but WILL cosign on loans so I am able to take them out.
I’m from a suburb of Chicago and really am not a fan of any Illinois state Universities (NIU, EIU, Illinois State, etc.) Any advice on what to do moving forward??
