What's a better overall experience in terms of Parties/friends etc

You know this is an impossible question to answer, right? It depends on who you are and who you meet.

I have spent a lot of time at Duke and the school spirit is UNBELIEVABLE. The Duke/Carolina rivalry is very, very real. The schools are not even 30 minutes apart and so folks show up in full force for games, especially (of course) basketball. With the Bball games and Coach K, the national media is present and the campus is on fire. There are a ton of clubs and you are surrounded by other schools (NC State, UNC, NC Central, etc.) so there is always something going on, on campus or off. There is local public transportation to get around Durham and into Chapel Hill. There is also an Amtrak minutes away if you want to get to DC or Charlotte with ease.
If you want an active campus with school spirit and the big school/big sports experience…you will get that at Duke. But, you can have a frat/drinking experience, a socially active/service oriented experience, a band kid experience and just about anything in between from what I have seen and what those I know say about it.

Don’t know about Dartmouth. Really hoping to visit so I can see what it is like and what kids do for fun. I have heard Dartmouth has lots of frat parties and places for outdoorsy activities. Don’t know if that is accurate or not.

HSG

Haha thanks HSG. I’m a sports nut but knowing my luck coach K would retire once I get there.

Those are your criteria for choosing a college?

Oops. I guess it’s wrong to have fun in college. Sorry sir

Ha ha. it’s perfectly all right. It’s not what I would consider a tipping point. Good luck to you.

lol: Harassnn: you seem to be the TMZ poster on CC…

By sports nut, do you mean you like to participate in sports or watch them as a fan? If the latter, I think there’s little doubt that Duke would provide you with more opportunity for big time sports fandom. Dartmouth seems to have plenty of school spirit, but it is not centered around sports and sports rivalries. Again, I guess it depends what you mean by “spirit.”
