What's a better social experience/parties etc

Duke.

.

.

100% Duke. Dartmouth is dominated by the greek scene whereas Duke has a healthy and eclectic balance of greeks, selective living groups and independents, all of which are diverse within themselves. Also, you can’t beat the energy and fun of Blue Devil athletic events (and the days/weeks/months of tenting that often accompany them).

Wasn’t Animal House loosely based off of Dartmouth?

Not affiliated with either school, but I feel Dartmouth is more “hardcore” than Duke, and Greek life seems to dominate more at Dartmouth. That being said, both are very social and have great parties, so don’t judge your decision based solely off this.

In addition to the foregoing comments, Dartmouth is rather remote. Certainly, Hanover is nice, but (for example) it’s also 2+ hours from Boston.

Durham isn’t the nicest city…

Durham has improved TREMENDOUSLY in the last decade, and it is a city rather than a small town.

Yea Ive been there recently. It’s sort of bland but maybe I was looking in the wrong places.
