More SAT II's better?

I know you are required to take two SAT II's but I was wondering if it was better to take more?

Say I were to get a great score on both and another student got the same scores as me. If he took ANOTHER SAT II that I didn't take and did well would he be taken over me?

Only a few schools would value additional SAT2 scores beyond the required 2 or 3 and the weight is not very high. They may also accept AP scores for that purpose too. Taking additional SAT2 is only recommended if you can get higher scores than what you got already, or there are certain subjects required by a particular school or program. For instance, Northwestern University Integrated Science wants Math2, Chem, and Physics, while another school wants a Math/Sci plus a social science. Then, you will need to take at least 4 SAT2 to fulfill the requirement of these 2 schools. In other words, it is the quality instead of quantity of SAT2 that is important.

Definitely, I took 9 tests and look where I ended up! PS, I’ll take 3 more, 2 in foreign languages, more SAT IIs are irrevocably better, especially for home schooled students.
To your question,
it depends. say you took US hist and applied for History/archaeology major and the other guy took US + World History, then he definitely got the edge over you. Depends on the program you’re applying to.

Most colleges admit students to schools (e.g. engineering or LSA) instead of specific majors/programs. The main reason is 2/3 of the students graduated with a major different from their initial intended one. Nevertheless, certain subjects in SAT2 are favored for certain schools. For most science and engineering, Math2 and at least one science (preferably chem or physics if for engineering) are prefered. In other cases, some schools want to see a diversity of academic achievement and they may want to see subjects from different core fields such as social science, science, and language.
