More than 20 colleges on my common app

Ok, so I've sent out the common application to 3 colleges, and apparently, i can only add 17 more colleges to send the common app to. What if i need to send it to more than 17? what do i do? how can i send it?

perhaps make a new version?

Yes i created a new version, but still only 20 common apps! Even if i create 10 versions, the total is only 20 colleges…i think

You might have to send paper apps after 20. But really, is 20 not enough?

Considering i’m an international student with 2020 sat 104 toefl and 4uw gpa, who can pay less than $5k per year…i think its too less!

20 should be more than enough, if your maximum is 5,000 USD then you should look at your college list and remove those who have massive tuiton fees and dont offer to cover your full need, 30k should be totally out of your reach, look at their admissions-financial-aid page, for example colleges like Harvard offer to cover full tuiton if needed but smaller colleges with less endowments will not do this. Or shoot at community colleges and then re-apply as a transfer once you have saved enough money for a 4-year.

Loukas- firstly… there are very few colleges that meet meet 100 % need… and even fewer that are need blind.
now, i m not talking about HYP etc… what about people who dont have 2390s ? … they need to apply to a wide range because the pool is so selective.

And, community colleges dont offer any aid… they dont even meet any need and theres a slight difference in the tuition fee for intls.

For whatever reason, 20 I think is enough.

What does that have to do with applying to more colleges?

Sounds like you have a good chance of being accepted to a college with even limited financial aid for international students. The most generous ones are the Ivies, the Little Ivies (Amherst, Williams, Wesleyan), and the Maine small liberal arts colleges (Bates, Colby, Bowdoin). Oberlin is also more generous than most. The Ivies and Little Ivies likely include international students in their “no loan” policy; I believe the Maine schools have also gone to no loans.

Unfortuantely we’re past the deadline for most of those schools. Saturday (15th) deadline colleges that might work include Oberlin, Mt. Holyoke, Smith, Bryn Mawr, Carleton, Macalester, and perhaps Reed. Good luck.

Watch out though for Ivy’s. Though they are “need-blind” for U.S. citizens, they do take into consideration your financial need if you are an international student. That means that your application is read in a more selected process than the other candidates.

That is definitely something to be aware of.

^No, it depends on which Ivy.

For example, Harvard is need-blind for internationals while Brown is not. It is true, however, that admissions is generally more competitive for internationals.
