I’m from India and I know that another person is going to apply to my dream school which is UPENN. I have better grades and ec’s but she’s a mediocreish athlete and has a sister in PENN, not in the same college, ie. wharton but another one.
Additionally, her dad has some sort of a connection with the administration, not enough to get her in entirely but it will help. I’m a better student but it really seems like her chances are higher, but I love UPENN and have for as long as I can remember, should I bother applying ED next year? Will they not consider taking 2 children from one school?
I have all that the college needs and am the top 1% of my class, what can I do to help my chances if I should apply?
However keep in mind that the number of students excepted internationally is quite small. For all of India they may accept only a handful of students. Is there a quota? No. But it’s incredibly difficult.
Why do you like Penn so much? Why wouldn’t another powerhouse school in an urban neighborhood suffice? Columbia, BU, Emory, UChicago?
Just kind of have since I visited two years ago. I haven’t been to BU or UChicago but Columbia didn’t seem very accepting, the atmosphere was extremely competitive and didn’t seem like I’d fit in. UCicago is definitely a good contender and I was thinking NYU, any tips in finding the right college or other options that come to mind?
