Hello, everyone! I shall be joining you guys at Mosaic! Can’t wait to meet everyone!

they sent the confirmation to heatbsb11 instead of heatbsbll hahaha got my confirmation now im registered im out the gate!!

Got my confirmation today too…after they called my house and said I was missing one of the sheets…

Eric - I think you need to stop complaining. There’s other people that have great stats AND are minorities but they didn’t get invited. Don’t act like they owe you an invite. Obviously, you’re missing something, and they didn’t invite you to attend. Honestly, it’d be a pity if someone like you attended an event like this. Expecting things to happen for you, and bashing others for their success. You sure have a lot to be proud of, NOT.

I’m from Memphis, TN and I’ll be at the program! Can’t wait to meet everyone :)

Oh, also. I got a call from a student at Vanderbilt regarding the Mosaic program, just wondering if I had any questions, and she told me that approximately 200 students from the nation attend the program.

My D will be attending this prog from TN(memphis).

eric doesn’t know what he is talking about.
Minorities at Vanderbilt are across the board strong students, and in many cases they are top quartile students… and the graduation rate for all students is extremely high despite the fact that classrooms are extremely tough.

Admissions won’t admit students who will fail in Vanderbilt classrooms. I know white students with below 30 ACTs there but admissions knew they had that X factor and they would be able to keep up.

My son is working much harder for grades at Vanderbilt than he ever had to work in high school. Why? there are NO slackers in his classes. The entire game is kicked way up when your entire peer group is highly motivated. The middle 50% of Vanderbilt students arrive with stats that far exceed the talent pool at Vandy just five years ago…As are hard to come by at Vandy and you will stumble and fail if you aren’t working hard daily.

Hey everyone going to Mosaic next week! I’m getting pretty excited! Anyways, I know this may seem like a really weird fear, but has anyone ever done an overnight stay with a student before? Not necessarily at Vanderbilt but anywhere. What’s it like? I’m really afraid it’s going to be awkward and weird and I just wanted to know if anyone had any experience with staying with a student on campus. Thanks!

Hey Collegehappy! I’ve actually done an overnight stay before and would be glad to tell you what its like. Honestly, it all depends on who your host is, because when I stayed over at another school my host stayed up all night doing his homework so I didn’t really get much sleep. However, another guy I met at the event said that he and his host went right to bed so it really does depend. I didn’t find it to be too awkward because the host is someone who willingly signed up for the event and, as a result, they are generally more than happy to answer questions and introduce/show you around. I even went off campus for yogurt with a group of guys! I’d reccomend bringing some form of air matress or thin foam sleeping pad because we will likely be sleeping on the floor. Anyways, its not intimidating at all and I found that it was a great way to experience what life at the school is like. I can’t wait to check out the Commons!

Hope that helped! I’m excited too!
