<p>i was just looking through the schedule of classes, and i noticed that most of the classes i am going to take are already full with 20+ people in the waitlist.
is the schedule correct? or is it not updated yet?
if it is correct, how do people already register for the class?</p>

<li><p>As a freshman you are likely to encounter a lot of this because after your first quarter, UCSD will assign you a registration time based on the number of units you have. Thus, everyone who has more units than you (sophs, juniors, seniors) have already registered. </p></li>
<li><p>You will be assigned a time in mid-late August after which you can register for classes. During the week of freshman registration, WebReg (the system you use to register online) will open up more seats in the general freshman classes. I know they do it for chem, math, and language classes, and many of the writing GEs.</p></li>
<li><p>Waitlisting is an option too! Every time I’ve waitlisted this year I have gotten into the class. About 10% of a class will usually drop in the first week or two. (Learned that on CC!)</p></li>

<p>I don’t think it’s updated because for MATH 10A, for instance, in Fall quarter 2008, there was around ~30ish seats per section. However, on Fall 2009, there’s only like, 8 seats per section which makes no sense at all.</p>
<p>Just an observation, I could be wrong.</p>

like how many units do you ened for sophmore, junior, senior status?</p>

90 units - junior
135 units - senior (I am just assuming on this one because I believe it’s 45 per year, correct me if this is wrong)</p>
